Terms of use
By DailyAstro · Last updated 2026-09-06
In one sentence: DailyAstro is a free traditional-culture reference tool. It does not constitute financial, investment, legal, medical or employment advice. It is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. Every decision you make with it is your own responsibility.
This English page is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs in any way from the Chinese original at 使用條款, the Chinese text prevails.
1. What this service is
From the birth date you provide, DailyAstro applies published BaZi date-selection rules and the 宜/忌 (suitable / to be avoided) data of the traditional almanac to produce “lucky day” scores for various purposes and a compatibility score between two people. The method is published in full in the methodology. These are judgements within a cultural and divinatory tradition — they are not scientifically validated predictions.
2. Not professional advice of any kind
What this service provides is not, and must not be treated as, professional advice in finance, investment, tax, law, medicine, psychology or human resources.
- A high score does not mean you will make money; a low score does not mean you will lose it. No outcome is something this service can predict or guarantee.
- Do not use this service to decide whether to buy or sell stocks, cryptocurrency, futures or any other investment. For decisions involving money, consult a licensed adviser.
- Gambling carries risk. “Speculation” (博彩投機) is a traditional divinatory label, not a tip that you will win. Stay within your means, and seek help if you need it.
3. Compatibility and employment decisions
The compatibility feature is a cultural reference. It should not be the sole or primary reason to hire, refuse to hire, promote or dismiss anyone. Employment decisions must follow the law of your own jurisdiction — including its rules on anti-discrimination, fair employment and privacy — and that responsibility rests entirely with you. Before you enter a third party's birth date (a job applicant's, for instance), make sure you have a lawful basis for doing so.
4. Accuracy of the data
The sexagenary calendar and the almanac 宜/忌 data come from the open-source library lunar-javascript. Printed almanacs of different editions, and calendrical schools of different lineages, disagree with one another to begin with. This service also does not implement true solar time (longitude) correction, so for some birth places and birth times the day pillar can be off by a day. We do not warrant that any calculated result is free of error.
5. Your data and third-party services
Your data is stored only in your own browser (see the privacy policy). “AI explanation” is by default forwarded through a server function of ours, using our own API key, to Gemini or DeepSeek; that feature has usage rate limits, and we may adjust, suspend or withdraw it at any time without notice. Once what you send reaches those services, their own terms apply to it as well. If you choose to connect Google Calendar, or to enter your own API key in settings (which is used only while our built-in AI is unavailable), you are supplying your own credentials and bear any cost, quota or consequence that follows. You are also responsible for keeping those keys safe — they live on your machine, so whoever has the machine has them.
6. Provided as is · disclaimer
This service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive loss (including financial loss, business loss or loss of data). The service is provided free of charge, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any or all of its features at any time without notice.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not repackage this service's results as professional advice or as guaranteed returns, and resell or distribute them to third parties.
- Do not scrape it in bulk by automated means or place an unreasonable load on it.
- Do not use it to harass, discriminate against or harm anyone.
8. Updates to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
If the law where you are does not permit some of the disclaimers above, that part applies to the minimum extent the law allows, and the remaining terms stay in force.
